Do I have to pay VAT?

Modified on Thu, 8 May at 3:43 PM

We are a business based in Austria and required to collect VAT for all customers within the European Union. As we are selling digital products, the tax rate depends on the customer's country. Buyers outside of the EU do not pay VAT.

However, due to EU reverse charge rules you do not have to pay VAT if you're an EU business with a valid VAT ID and you enter it during checkout. This exemption does not apply to customers in Austria, since we are based there and VAT-free sales only apply to cross-border transactions within the EU.

If you're a VAT-registered EU business and you forgot to enter your VAT number, you can claim it back in your tax return using the invoice we provide.

The "Private - Business" toggle on our pricing chart is only for informational purposes, it does not influence whether we charge VAT or not. This depends on your location and on the validity of the VAT number you may have entered.
